Software Engineer - Platform

About the role

This is a high‑impact platform engineering role focused on building and scaling the foundational infrastructure behind a next‑generation database platform. You will work on distributed backend systems that serve massive global traffic while ensuring reliability, performance and a great developer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core platform components that support a high‑scale database infrastructure.
• Develop and evolve distributed systems powering database services for high‑traffic applications.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to solve challenges in scalability, performance optimization and system reliability.
• Work autonomously to analyse and resolve technical and business problems with minimal supervision.
• Engage directly with customers to translate requirements into platform improvements.
• Debug, maintain and enhance large‑scale codebases while upholding quality and maintainability standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, primarily on backend, distributed or infrastructure systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go and solid experience with Python, Java or C++.
• Good understanding of relational databases such as MySQL and experience with high‑scale data systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and containerised cloud‑native environments.
• Proven track record of designing, building and operating distributed systems in production.
• Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills across complex, multi‑component systems.
