System Integration Engineer – Effector Development

About the role

The Destinus engineering team is seeking a Systems Engineer to lead the system‑level definition and technical development of its effector programmes. This position sits at the centre of the development effort, bridging operational requirements and technical execution across propulsion, structures, avionics, and seeker.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own system‑level requirements, ensuring traceability from ConOps to subsystem specifications.
• Develop and maintain ConOps and operational scenarios in collaboration with customers and programme stakeholders.
• Manage technical interfaces between propulsion, warhead/pyrotechnics, structures, avionics, guidance and ground support equipment, owning the ICD and IRS documentation.
• Lead trade studies and make‑or‑buy analyses to identify optimal technical and commercial solutions.
• Coordinate system integration activities across all subsystems and ensure integration milestones are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of systems engineering experience on defence or weapons programmes, such as rockets, missiles or guided weapons.
• Proven experience defining and managing system requirements and interfaces across multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Hands‑on experience with ConOps development, trade studies and make‑or‑buy decision frameworks.
• Familiarity with system design review processes (SRR, PDR, CDR) and related documentation.
• Experience with verification and validation planning and requirements traceability; knowledge of standards such as ARP4754, DEF STAN or MIL‑STD is a plus.
