Therapeutic Area Head, PK Sciences – Immunology

About the role

Novartis is seeking an accomplished scientific leader to head Pharmacokinetics Sciences (PKS) for Immunology. The role leads a cross‑functional organization covering PK, clinical pharmacology, bioanalysis and quantitative pharmacology across discovery to registration.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement integrated platform and program strategies from discovery through registration for the immunology portfolio.
• Oversee PK, clinical pharmacology, bioanalysis and quantitative pharmacology contributions to regulatory submissions and health‑authority interactions.
• Drive cross‑functional collaboration across discovery, development, regulatory and other partner functions.
• Build, lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing scientific team.

Required profile

• PhD or PharmD in pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, biochemistry or related discipline.
• 12+ years of biopharmaceutical experience spanning pre‑clinical and clinical R&D with senior leadership responsibility.
• Proven people‑leadership experience, including hiring, mentoring and coaching scientific talent.
• Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements and experience contributing to IND, IMPD, NDA and BLA submissions.

Required skills

• Pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology expertise.
• Bioanalysis and quantitative pharmacology.
• Experience with digital tools, AI and automation for scientific decision‑making.
• Knowledge of immunology disease areas and multiple therapeutic modalities (small molecules, mAbs, CAR‑T).
