US Tax and Reporting Specialist (80-100%)

About the role

LGT is seeking a US Tax and Reporting Specialist to ensure accurate and timely fulfilment of all US tax reporting obligations linked to the Qualified Intermediary Agreement. You will work closely with the QI Responsible Officer and support internal teams in navigating complex US tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review US tax forms such as W‑8BEN, W‑9, 1042‑S and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with FATCA and QI requirements, focusing on reporting and monitoring.
• Analyse complex US tax issues and provide advice to internal departments.
• Collaborate with external advisers and auditors to resolve specific tax matters.
• Monitor legislative changes in US tax law and assess impact on LGT processes.
• Support automation and optimisation of regulatory reporting (e.g., Modelo 196, QI, CPC).
• Handle client enquiries on US tax topics and maintain internal databases.
• Leverage AI tools to continuously improve and streamline processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Law or a related field with a focus on taxation or regulation.
• Several years of professional experience in US tax law and reporting, preferably in financial services.
• Excellent spoken and written German and English.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and a proactive, structured work style.
• High sense of responsibility, discretion and ability to implement complex requirements.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of US tax legislation, especially QI/FATCA and relevant IRS forms.
• Experience with US tax reporting software.
• Avaloq knowledge (advantage).
• Proficiency with AI tools for process improvement.
