Evidence Reviewer

About the role

The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) seeks an Evidence Reviewer to support its Collection, Analysis and Sharing Section. Working remotely, you will help analyse and prepare evidentiary material collected by the IIMM for potential use in national, regional or international proceedings.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess documents, videos, audio files and social‑media content in Myanmar language for relevance to the IIMM mandate.
• Summarise and draft translations of material between Myanmar language and English.
• Develop search terms in Myanmar language to streamline material review.
• Identify duplicates and connections across evidence databases using specialised analysis software.
• Collaborate with reviewers, analysts, investigators and legal officers to ensure consistency with internal guidelines.
• Maintain organised files and meet tight deadlines.
• Prepare analytical reports and progress updates for senior management.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in law, social sciences, languages, information management or related field (or a first‑level degree plus two years relevant experience).
• At least one year of professional experience in evidence review, translation or related analytical work.
• Familiarity with criminal, public international or international criminal law is desirable.
• Experience with Myanmar‑language material, including social‑media content, is a plus.
