Research Associate – Molecular Biology & Protein Engineering

About the role

Join Adaptyv’s biology & production team to run high‑throughput protein expression, DNA assembly, and characterization workflows supporting AI‑driven wet‑lab experimentation.

Key responsibilities

• Execute protein expression workflows using cell‑free, E. coli, and potentially mammalian systems.
• Perform high‑throughput DNA synthesis and assembly (PCR, Golden Gate, Gibson).
• Run binding and characterization assays such as BLI, SPR, thermostability, enzyme activity, and developability assays.
• Troubleshoot expression issues, prepare reagents, manage samples, and track experiments in LabOS.
• Analyze data from gels, chromatograms, and binding curves, and collaborate with the automation team to adapt protocols for robotic workflows.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering or related field.
• Hands‑on bench experience with PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis and DNA purification.
• Experience expressing recombinant proteins in at least one system.
• Familiarity with DNA assembly methods (Golden Gate, Gibson, restriction cloning).
• Ability to work precisely in a fast‑paced environment handling hundreds of constructs weekly.
